Zaeshinwa Camiracale- “Cammie”
(Blue Tabby Point)

Sire: GOLD DLE GD CH ZAESHINWA ZIGGY STAR (Blue Tabby Pt)
Dam: BRONZE DLE GD CH ZAESHINWA BARBARA ANNE (Seal Tabby Pt)
DOB: 26/11/04

Cammie came into the world in a most unconventional way. Six days before her expected birth date her mother Babsie was found crouching in the hallway unable to move and in extreme pain. Babsies' gums were white, she was bleeding internally and needed a blood transfusion. We rushed Babsie into our clinic and started the blood transfusion and performed an emergency ovariohysterectomy as she had a uterine torsion. Much to our surprise one kitten (Cammie) was alive, it took 4 hours to get her breathing regularly. Babsie her mother had no milk after the surgery but attended to her needs in all other areas, so we had to tube feed her for a few days until she was strong enough to elicit milk let down in her mother which began about 6 days after her birth.
Cammie was a gentle and special member of our household however she was a particularly unsuccessful breeder often producing dead kittens. She was a special cat and as fate would have it a special woman came across our path and offered her the most fantastic forever home. As painful as it was to say goodbye we knew no better home could be found, living in the lap of luxury with a veterinarian for a nextdoor neighbour Cammie will be well catered for, for the rest of her days.

Grand Champion Myntar Camelia Cream
“Peachie” (Cream Point)

Sire: CHAMPION RISHABHA REDHAT LINUX (Red Tabby Point)
Dam: GOLD DOUBLE GRAND CHAMPION MYNTAR SWEET PRIMULA (Seal Tortie Tabby Point)
DOB: 23/10/02

Peachie came to us from our friends Helen and John Paul of Myntar Birman Cattery. She started her time at Zaeshinwa Birmans as a small timid little princess but she soon settled down and has grown into a stunning example of a cream point birman. There was some confusion amongst the show judges as to whether or not she is a cream point or a red point. We have no doubt she is a cream point, and one of rich warm colouring. She did not go to that many shows but she always got her points and was a very calm and 'chilled out' cat. We have retired Peachie to a life of luxury with a friend of ours who continues to spoil her and treat her like the princess she is.

Br Dble Gd Champion Zaeshinwa Barbara Anne
“Babsie” (Seal Tabby Point)

Sire: DUBROVA ROCKETMAN (Seal Tabby Point)
Dam: MYNTAR LILI (Blue Point)
DOB: 03/04/01

Babsie is a seal tabby point birman. She has the gentlest personality and is always looking for a lap to snuggle onto. She is a decent sized girl, with beautiful distinct tabby markings, a good birman head and a distinct roman nose. Babsie unfortunately had to be speyed in an emergency procedure as she had a uterine torsion in the last week of her fourth pregnancy. It was a real tragedy for Zaeshinwa Birmans to lose the breeding potential of a cat of this merit. However, the important thing is that she is alive and enjoying a life of luxury with Jason's mother, however we still miss her being around.

VALE ZIGGY ~ (25/9/00 – 31/10/07)
Gold Double Grand Champion
Zaeshinwa Ziggy Star
– “Ziggy” (Blue Tabby Point)

Sire: RISHABHA WILL SCARLETT (Red Tabby Point)
Dam: GRAND CHAMPION SHANWA LOLAH (Blue Tortie Point)
DOB: 25/09/00

Ziggy died suddenly after a short battle with heart disease, he was diagnosed with an unclassified form of restrictive cardiomyopathy caused most likely by scarring from previous cardiac inflammation. A few months prior to his death Ziggy developed a transient fever and diarrhoea whilst we were away on holiday – this is the only time he had been ill prior to his death. His cardiomyopathy was not considered to be genetically based.
Ziggy was the son of Lola, a kitten from the first litter of birmans Patrick ever bred. He was from a litter of four and it was Lola's eighth litter. She produced one seal point, a cream point, a tortie tabby and Ziggy, a blue tabby. Indeed a mixed coloured litter. Patrick had no intention of keeping him but when the crunch came to sell him he could not do it as he was just so cute. He used to follow people around the house all the time so that he could sit on their shoulders and groom them.
Ziggy was Zaeshinwa’s first stud male and was a gentle and easy introduction into keeping a stud male. Over the years has fathered many kittens for us, and their temperaments were always gentle and outgoing. He was consistent in passing on this trait. Ziggy was a wonderful show cat in his time, often in the top 5 in his group.
Jason and Ziggy had a special bond, he loved nothing more than sitting out in his cat garden snuggled on Jasons’ lap enjoying a cuddle and it was particularly hard on Jason when he died. His legacy will live on here at Zaeshinwa through his son Saxon.
